Arrangement of the support components |
1 | Bracket with the pedals | 7 | Bolts attaching the hydraulic master cylinder
2 | flanged nuts for the fastening of the pedals support | 8 | Clutch pedal return spring
3 | Hydraulic sender cylinder | 9 | Brake pedal return spring
4 | Service brake pedal valve | 10 | Brake pedal
5 | Hydraulic fluid supply hose | 11 | Clutch pedal
6 | Hydraulic reservoir | 12 | Service brake switch |
| Remove/install | ||
1 | Place the vehicle on an appropriate location to carry out the service
2 | Disconnect the negative battery cable or turn off the main switch | On vehicles fitted with electronic engine management, always follow the recommendations on care with the vehicle's electronic part.
3 | Open the vehicle front cover and remove the inside lining below the dashboard.
4 | Completely discharge the vehicle's pneumatic system
Caution | Risk of poisoning from swallowing brake fluid. Risk of injury from skin and eye contact with brake fluid | Only pour brake fluid into suitable and appropriately marked containers. Wear protective clothing and eye protection when handling brake fluid.
5 | Remove by suction the brake fluid from the hydraulic reservoir (7) | Collect brake fluid in an appropriate container for ecologically correct disposal. Removed fluid, even with a clean appearance, is not to be re-utilized.
6 | Detach the hydraulic line on the outlet connection of the master cylinder (3). Later on detach the supply hose (5) of the master cylinder (3) |
| |
Vehicles fitted with clutch servo
Installation: Connect the hydraulic hose on the master cylinder. Install a new fitting and sealing ring on the hose connection (5) with the master cylinder (3).
7 | Remove the flange nut (2) fastening the support and remove the hydraulic reservoir (6) together with the support and the hose(5) | Installation: Fasten the reservoir and the support with the flange (2). Check the condition of the clamp fastening the hose.
If necessary, remove the plastic clamps from the hydraulic and pneumatic pipes.
Utilize new clamps in the arrangement of the pipes.
.Bracket mounting nuts
.Studs in the bracket | |||
8 | Detach the pneumatic lines from the pedal valve (5) |
| |
Notes on compressed air connection systems
With compressed air connection system "VOSS 232" (NG 8, 12) or "SCHÄFER SDF" (NG 6)
Installation: Check the connections in the piping for leakage and, if necessary, replace them.
9 | Detach the electric wires on the brake switch (12)
10 | Release the return springs (8) of the clutch pedal and (9) of the brake pedal | At assembly lubricate the return spring hooks.
11 | From the vehicle outside, remove the flanged nuts (2) from the threaded studs on the pedal support body | .Bracket mounting nuts
12 | Remove (from inside), the complete structure (1) with the pedals (10) and (11) | Installation: On vehicles fitted with automatic gearbox, on the support there is no clutch pedal. However, the removal and installation procedure of the pedal support is the same for all.
Installation: Utilize a new self-adhesive gasket between the pedal structure and the front wall.
13 | Install in reverse order
14 | Bleed off the clutch drive system |
| |
Vehicle 368, 384 | |||
15 | charge the vehicle pneumatic system to the required pressure | Installation: Check the connections for leaks. |
