Caution | Risk of poisoning from swallowing brake fluid. Risk of injury from skin and eye contact with brake fluid | Only pour brake fluid into suitable and appropriately marked containers. Wear protective clothing and eye protection when handling brake fluid.
1 | Remove the slave clutch (11) |
| |
2 | Transmission removal | Select the procedure according to the composition and accessibility.
3 | Remove the clutch plate (2) together with the clutch disc (1) | Unscrew the bolts (4) alternately, crosswise. Unfasten the gradually, in order to avoid excessive unilateral load on the plate. Pay attention to the clutch disc position.
| Check | ||
4 | Check the conditions of the clutch plate (2) and clutch disc (1) | The disc must move easily on the drive shaft, without presenting excessive play
| |||
In the case of fissures, signs of overheating and/or wear of the friction surface.
| |||
Replace the clutch plate and/or disc.
5 | Check the conditions of the engine flywheel
In the case of fissures and/or damages in the friction surface, rectify the engine flywheel.
| |||
Check flywheel, rework if necessary
6 | Check the engine flywheel guide bearings conditions | In the case of identifiable wear, or inadequate functioning.
| |||
Remove/install guide bearing in flywheel
7 | Check the conditions of the clutch bearing (5) and clutch actuation system (6) | In the case of detectable wear, or inadequate operation of the bearing and/or clutch actuation system.
8 | Check the clutch actuation system fluid, for contamination | In the case of fluid contamination, wash the actuation system and replace the fluid. Check the sender cylinder conditions, if necessary repair it.
| |||
Remove/install master cylinder
9 | Check the conditions of the clutch actuation pneumatic system | Vehicles equipped with hydro-servo-pneumatic cylinder. In the case of contamination with water in the pneumatic part, drain the reservoirs and check the conditions of the draining valve. In the case of contamination of the pneumatic part, by engine oil, check the air compressor conditions.
| Install | ||
10 | Install the clutch disc (1) and the clutch plate (2), centering the disc with the help of a centering mandrel (8) | Assure correct mounting position for clutch disk. Remove the centering mandrel only after the tightening of the plate fastening bolts.
Tighten the bolts (4) alternately and progressively. During the tightening, check continuously whether the mandrel can be easily moved. If the clutch disc is installed eccentrically, difficulties will occur during the installation of the gearbox.
