Check

Clean the steering wheel (2) and examine for cracks or stains with signs of overheating

Check the flatness of the steering wheel friction surface (2) with a straightedge (3)

Machining

Rectify the friction surface of the steering wheel (2), observing the finishing roughness

 Prior to rectifying the steering wheel, check that material can be removed.
When rectifying the steering wheel, observe the maximum allowable measurement for material removal.
If the cracks are deeper than authorized disposal, replace the handwheel (2).
