Remove/install

Open engine compartment flap at rear

Open additional flap

Open maintenance flap at the left rear

4

Open engine and mechanism maintenance flaps in the passenger compartment

Close off heating system shutoff valve on cooler

Danger!

Risk of injury to skin and eyes caused by scalding from contact with hot coolant spray. Risk of poisoning caused by swallowing coolant.

 Do not open cooling system unless coolant temperature is below 90°C. Open cap slowly and release the pressure. Do not pour coolant into beverage containers.

Wear protective gloves, protective clothing and safety glasses.

Remove coolant pipe between cooler and coolant thermostat

Only if automatic transmission fitted.

Remove top coolant pipe at oil-water heat exchanger of transmission

Only if automatic transmission fitted.

Remove coolant pipe at expansion reservoir

Remove coolant pipe with heating return line check valve

 Previously open shutoff valve for the heating system again and drain off residual coolant.

Install in the reverse order


