Remove, install coolant return line for turbocharger

Remove/install

 Danger!

Risk of injury to skin and eyes caused by scalding from contact with hot coolant spray.
Risk of poisoning caused by swallowing coolant.

Do not open cooling system unless coolant temperature is below 90°C. Open cap slowly and release the pressure. Do not pour coolant into beverage containers.

Wear protective gloves, protective clothing and safety glasses.

Remove maintenance flap

Turn cap on engine coolant expansion reservoir a half turn counterclockwise, relieve pressure and then unscrew the cap

 Installation: Add coolant to coolant expansion reservoir and bleed cooling system.

Remove interior flap above engine

Detach hose clamp (2) and charge air hose (3) from turbocharger (4)

 Close turbocharger opening (4). Penetration of dirt, fluid or small parts can damage the turbocharger (4).

Remove bolts (5, 6) and lay heat shield for exhaust system (7) to one side



Loosen clamp (8) and detach coolant hose (9) from coolant return line (1)

 Collect the escaping coolant in a suitable container.

Unscrew bolt (10) from bracket (11) on vacuum unit



Unscrew banjo bolt (12) and coolant return line (1) from turbocharger (4) and remove coolant return line (1)

 Installation: Install new sealing rings on banjo bolt (12).


