Modification notes
| Removing | ||
Danger! | Risk of injury to skin and eyes from scalding due to contact with hot coolant spray. | Do not open cooling system unless coolant temperature is below 90°C. Open cap slowly and release the pressure. Do not pour coolant into beverage containers. Wear protective gloves, protective clothing and safety glasses.
| Notes on coolant | All engines | |
1 | Unscrew cap of cooling system (1) at coolant expansion reservoir (2) | Rotate one revolution counterclockwise, drain overpressure, then unscrew closing cover of cooling system (1).
2 | Remove underfloor paneling
Drain | |||
3 | Open drain plug (3) at engine and drain coolant | Collect coolant
4 | Remove clamp (4) at return flow coolant hose (5) and detach return flow coolant hose (5) | Collect coolant
Filling | |||
5 | Screw tight drain plug (3) at engine
6 | Fit on return flow coolant hose (5) and fasten with clamp (4) | Moisten return flow coolant hose (5) before installation.
7 | Open the bleed screw (6)
8 | Pour in coolant | Tighten the bleed screw (6) if coolant seeps out at the bleed screw (6). Pour in coolant up to MAX. mark in coolant expansion reservoir (2).

10 | Close coolant expansion reservoir (2) with cooling system cap (1)
| Checking | ||
Danger! | Risk of accident caused by vehicle starting off by itself when engine is running. Risk of injury caused by contusions and burns during starting procedure or when working near the engine as it is running | Secure vehicle to prevent it from moving by itself.
11 | Run engine until warm | Until the cooling fan is switched on.
12 | Unscrew cap of cooling system (1) at coolant expansion reservoir (2) | Rotate one revolution counterclockwise, drain overpressure, then unscrew closing cover of cooling system (1).
13 | Check coolant level and antifreeze at coolant expansion reservoir (2), refill coolant if necessary | The engine coolant level at coolant expansion reservoir (2) must be positioned at max. marking.
