 	Remove/install
1	Remove oil separator (6).	Engine up to engine end number 036947	AR01.20-G-9750CH
		Engine as of engine end number 036948	AR01.20-G-9750CHA
2	Drain off coolant.		AR20.00-G-1142-02CH
	Coolant specifications		BB00.40-P-0310-01A
		 Installation: Refill coolant and vent engine cooling system. See information from body manufacturer.
		 Coolant drain plug on crankcase	*BA01.40-N-1005-01P
3	Remove suction line (5) from resonator box (4).	 Installation: Check sealing ring of suction line (5) for damage.
		If damage is identifiable
		
		Replace suction line (5).
4	Remove screw (9) and remove resonator box (4).	 Installation: Replace sealing ring (10).
		 Bolt, resonator to bracket	*BA13.30-N-1018-01J
5	Remove coolant line (2) from compressor (8).	 Collect flowing out coolant in a suitable container.
		 Installation: Install new sealing rings.
		 Banjo bolt, coolant line to compressor	*BA13.30-N-1002-01J
6	Remove coolant line (11) from compressor (8).	 Counterhold fitting on the compressor (8) and capture escaping coolant in a suitable container.
		 Banjo bolt, coolant line to compressor	*BA13.30-N-1002-01J
7	Disconnect compressed-air line (3) from the connection and remove from bracket.
8	Remove the compressed-air line (3) from the compressor (8).	 Counterhold fitting on compressor (8).
		 Installation: Check the compressed air line (3) for carbonization.
		If the compressed-air line (3) is carbonized,
		
		Replace air line (3).
9	Remove the control line (7) from the compressor (8).	 Installation: Install new sealing rings.
		 Banjo bolt, control line to compressor	*BA13.30-N-1006-01J
10	Remove power-steering pump (1) from compressor (8).	 Do not disconnect oil lines.
		 Installation: Replace sealing ring on power-steering pump (1).
		 Bolt, power steering pump to compressor	*BA46.30-N-1002-01O
11	Remove cross plate (12) from the power-steering pump (1) or remove from the compressor (8).	 Installation: Insert cross plate (12) into compressor (8) and secure against slipping with high-temperature grease.
		High-temperature grease	*BR00.45-Z-1051-06A
12	Remove compressor (8) from timing case.	 Collect escaping engine oil.
		 Installation: Turn drive gear (15), if necessary.
		 Screw/bolt, compressor to crankcase	*BA13.30-N-1001-01J
13	Check drive gear (15) for damage.	 Visual inspection.
		If damage is identifiable
		
		replace drive gear (15).
14	Check drive gear on the camshaft for damage.	 Visual inspection.
		If damage is identifiable
		
		Replace drive wheel or camshaft.

15	Remove sealing rings (13, 14) from compressor (8).	 Installation: Replace sealing rings (13, 14).
16	Remove fittings from the compressor (8).	Only if compressor (8) was replaced or fitting is leaky.
		 Installation: Install new sealing rings.

		 Fitting, suction line to cylinder head	*BA13.30-N-1005-01J
		 Fitting, coolant line to compressor	*BA13.30-N-1008-01J
17	Install in the reverse order
18	Check compressed-air lines between the compressor (8), compressed-air drier, and the four-circuit protection valve for carbonization.	Only if the compressed-air line (3) needed to be replaced due to carbonization.
		If carbonization can be detected,
		
		replace corresponding compressed-air line.
19	Check engine oil level, correct if necessary.	 Engine oil	*BF18.00-N-1001-01K
20	Perform engine test run and check compressed-air line (3) for leak tightness.	 Visual inspection.
21	Check area of the compressor (8) for leak tightness.	 Visual inspection.
