Risk of accident from vehicle starting off by itself when engine running. Risk of injury (bruises and burns) resulting from working on the engine while it is being started or when it is running.

Secure vehicle to prevent it from starting off by itself. Wear closed and snug-fitting work clothes. Do not touch hot or rotating parts.

Wear protective gloves, protective clothing and safety glasses.
Do not fill engine oil into beverage containers.

Remove/install

Detach vent hose (2) from oil separator (1) and from bleed line (3).

Slide vent hose (2) along bleed line (3).

Check vent hose (2) and bleed line (3) for deposits.

If deposits are present:



Clean or replace vent hose (2) or bleed line (3).

Remove oil separator (1) from timing case.

 Collect escaping engine oil in a suitable container.

 Installation: Install new seal (4).

 Bolt, oil separator to engine

Install in the reverse order.

Perform engine test run.

 See information from body manufacturer.

Check area around oil separator (1) in terms of leak tightness.

 Visual inspection.

 Crankcase ventilation, cylinder head cover
