Risk of explosion caused by fuel igniting, risk of poisoning caused by inhaling and swallowing fuel as well as risk of injury to eyes and skin caused by contactwith fuel.

No fires, sparks, open flames or smoking. Pour fuels into suitable and appropriately marked containers only.
Wear protective clothing when handling fuel.

Remove pressure line (2)

 Installation: Check engine oil circuit in the area of the high-pressure pump (1) after the engine test run for leak tightness.

Remove charge air cooler air supply ducting

Lower vehicle with vehicle lift

Disconnect electrical connector from fuel temperature sensor (B50) and disconnect electrical connector from quantity control valve (Y94)

Remove fuel feed line (3) from the high-pressure pump (1)

 Installation: Install new clamp on the fuel feed line (3).

Remove fuel return lines (4) from the high-pressure pump (1)

 Installation: Install new clamps from the fuel return lines (4).

 Pliers

Remove leak oil line (5) from the high-pressure pump (1)

Remove screws (6) and remove high-pressure pump (1) from the cylinder head

 Installation: Install new sealing ring (7) on the high-pressure pump (1).
Align driver (8) with the high-pressure pump (1) according to the position of the camshaft.

 Bolt, high-pressure pump to cylinder head
