Clean area around oil filler plug (1)

Only check oil level when transmission is cold. When the transmission is hot the oil level is higher which leads to an incorrect measurement.

Remove oil filler screw (1)

Keep a receptacle ready for any oil that escapes. Clean oil filler screw (1).

Check and correct oil level

The transmission oil level is correct when the oil reaches the lower edge of the filler opening.
