Service Information: Notes on redocumentation for retrofitting or conversion measures

If the equipment of a vehicle is changed at a later stage or the vehicle is modified significantly, this must be documented accordingly in the vehicle documentation system (VeDoc). This is required for warranty and goodwill claims. Where applicable, in warranty or goodwill cases in which any retrofit or modification is unable to be traced back via VeDoc, this claim may be rejected.

The retrofit or modification measures are classified as follows:

 Current retrofit or modification measures

 Measures on body by body manufacturer

 Replacement of redocumentation, particularly safety-relevant components

Workshops with VeDoc change authorization

Change authorization managers can make all the changes automatically in VeDoc. The necessary details hereto are available in the VeDoc Change Manual.

Workshops without VeDoc change authorization

Workshops without any change authorization in VeDoc should contact through their market-specific process (Ticket in XENTRY Support & Feedback (XSF), email, telephone, etc.) their market contact partner or the First Level Support System.

Measures on body by body manufacturer

When renewing redocumented, in particular, safety-relevant major assemblies or components, it is essential to note that everything listed in the following table must be redocumented in VeDoc.
