The QR code adhesive label enables rescue forces equipped with Internet-capable, mobile terminals and smartphones to have fast and direct access to the digital rescue cards for all Mercedes-Benz vans.
From the end of 2014 onwards, the QR code adhesive labels will be attached to all Mercedes-Benz vans at the factory. Customers whose vehicles do not yet have a QR code adhesive label can have them retrofitted from October 2014 onwards in any Mercedes-Benz service operation (adhesive labels are available for vans from manufacturer year 1996 onwards).
The rescue card is shown in the following languages depending on how the terminal is configured:
German, English, French, Spanish, Portuguese, Italian, Japanese, Russian, Chinese, Dutch, Polish, Danish, Swedish, Finnish, Norwegian, Czech, Hungarian, Slovene, Greek, Turkish, Bulgarian, Romanian, Korean
If the national language is not available the rescue card is shown in English.
The QR code adhesive labels are attached to the driver-side B-pillar (1) and passenger-side B-pillar (2) on all model series except model 415.
On model 415, the QR code adhesive labels are attached to the right B-pillar and the inside of the fuel filler flap.
In the event of an accident the QR code adhesive label can then be located quickly and read out over a smartphone or a tablet PC.
All that is needed for this is an app for scanning QR codes that can be downloaded for free. To provide offline availability of the rescue cards, a Rescue Assist App will soon be published for iOS and Android.
To ensure that the adhesive label is properly attached we advise having the QR code adhesive label attached by authorized workshop personnel.
Adhesive labels or information signs already attached must not be covered up.
The bonding surface must be absolutely dust and grease free, as otherwise the adhesive label will not be properly stuck into place.
The adhesive labels can be ordered with immediate effect through the usual parts ordering process.
The replacement part numbers are available in the EPC in DG 58.
The QR code adhesive labels must be attached in the hatched area.
