4 | Jack up vehicle and support vehicle frame | ||
5 | Remove left and right ABS sensor | ||
6 | Unplug sensor line connector (2) of brake wear sensors. | If the sensor line connector (2) is not located near the brake wear sensor, detach brake wear sensor connector (1) directly at sensor. | |

7 | Detach brake lines (4) at left and right combination cylinder | With compressed air connection system "VOSS 230". | |
With compressed air connection system "VOSS 232" (NG 8, 12) or "SCHÄFER SDF" (NG 6). | |||
Installation: Check O-rings and replace if necessary. | |||

8 | Unplug differential lock connector (9) and differential lock compressed-air line (6). | ||
9 | Detach temperature sensor plug (10) from rear axle | ||
10 | Detach axle housing vent line (5) from connection at differential assembly. | ||
11 | Detach air suspension linkage (3) at left and right axle housing | ||
12 | Detach compressed-air distributor (11) from axle housing | Do not detach lines. | |
13 | Detach lines and line harnesses attached to axle housing. | Tie lines, line harnesses and compressed-air distributor (11) to one side. | |
14 | Disconnect propeller shaft and secure to prevent it falling | ||
15 | Secure rear axle to prevent it from falling down and tipping over | ||
16 | Detach shock absorber (7) from rear axle | | |
17 | Remove anti-roll bar from rear axle | ||
18 | Depressurize air bellows | ||
19 | Remove air suspension bellows on left and right | ||
20 | Detach wishbone (12) from rear axle and secure | | |
21 | Lower rear axle and pull out below vehicle | ||
22 | Detach air bellows support (8) from rear axle | When installing a new rear axle. | |
When installing a rear axle which has already been in service. | |||
23 | Install in the reverse order |
