2 | Discharge compressed-air system | ||
3 | Remove wheels | ||
4 | Jack up vehicle and support vehicle frame | ||
5 | Remove ABS sensor | ||
6 | Detach brake lines (8) from combination cylinders | With compressed air connection system "VOSS 230". | |
With compressed air connection system "VOSS 232" (NG 8, 12) or "SCHÄFER SDF" (NG 6). | |||
Installation: Check O-rings and replace if necessary. | |||

7 | Separate sensor line plug connection (6) | If the sensor line connector (6) is not located near the brake wear sensor, detach brake wear sensor connector (5) directly at brake wear sensor. | |

8 | Unplug differential lock connector (10). | ||
9 | Detach differential lock compressed-air line (9) from differential lock. | With compressed air connection system "VOSS 230". | |
With compressed air connection system "VOSS 232" (NG 8, 12) or "SCHÄFER SDF" (NG 6). | |||
Installation: Check O-rings and replace if necessary. | |||

10 | Remove plug for temperature sensor on rear axle (12) from temperature sensor rear axle | Only with maintenance system (WS). | |
11 | Disconnect vent line (11) from axle housing | ||
12 | Detach ALB linkage (7) | ||
13 | Detach compressed air distributor from axle housing | Do not detach the lines. | |
14 | Detach lines and line harnesses attached to axle housing. | Tie lines, line harnesses and compressed-air distributor to one side. | |
15 | Disconnect propeller shaft and secure to prevent it falling | ||
16 | Raise rear axle until leaf springs (3) are relieved of load. | ||
17 | Remove spring shackles (1) and spring seats (2) | | |
18 | Lower rear axle and remove spring pads (4) from axle housing. | Installation: lightly grease mounting bore of center bolt in spring base. When lifting the axle, ensure that the center bolts engage in the mounting bores. | |
19 | Pull rear axle out from under the vehicle. | ||
20 | Install in the reverse order |
