16 | Install radial sealing ring (2) and insert washer (3) | ||
17 | Install steering knuckle (5) with tapered roller thrust bearing (13) and shim (15) | On the right in vehicles with left-hand steering or on the left in vehicles with right-hand steering | |
18 | Install steering knuckle (5) with anti-friction thrust bearing (14) and shim (15) | On the left in vehicles with left-hand steering or on the right in vehicles with right-hand steering | |
19 | Check end play of steering knuckle (5) and adjust if necessary | ||
20 | Install kingpin (8) | ||

21 | Install needle roller bearing (4) at the top of steering knuckle | ||

22 | Install upper (6) and lower (10) caps | Use new O-rings (7 and 9). | |
23 | Lubricate steering knuckle bearing | The steering knuckle bearing must be lubricated within an hour of installing the kingbolt, otherwise it wedges itself and can no longer be lubricated. | |
24 | Install pitman arm (1) | On the left in vehicles with left-hand steering or on the right in vehicles with right-hand steering | |
