| Removing | ||
| Notes on hydraulic fluid as per Specification, Sheet 345.0 | ||
1 | Remove transmission | ||
2 | Place transmission on a working surface and secure in place
3 | Remove transverse shift gate catch (1)
4 | Detach electrical connectors for clutch travel sensor, gear sensor and gate sensor
5 | Remove securing clamp (3)
6 | Detach supply line and return line from oil container | Collect any escaping hydraulic oil in suitable container and dispose of in line with applicable regulations.
7 | Undo bolts (4) on hydraulic transmission positioner (6) and automatic gear control (AGS) hydraulic controller unit (A92)
8 | Remove safety clip (5) on clutch pressure line
9 | Remove clutch pressure line | Do not bend the clutch pressure line. Collect hydraulic fluid which escapes in a suitable container and dispose of as per the valid provisions.
| Clutch pressure line modified | ||
10 | Withdraw hydraulic transmission positioner (6) together with automatic gear control (AGS) hydraulic controller unit (A92) | Move the hydraulic transmission positioner (6) to and fro slightly. If it cannot be removed without a lot of force, lever out cap (2) using a suitable tool and carefully hammer out the transverse shift gate using a suitable drift.
11 | Remove cap (2) using a suitable drift | Only if not yet removed.
| Install | ||
12 | Screw guide pin (8) onto the transverse shift gate and secure the lock pawl of the shift lock using the assembly device (7) to prevent it from twisting on the shift shaft
13 | Clean the sealing surface on the hydraulic transmission positioner (6) and on the transmission housing and coat with sealing compound
14 | Slide hydraulic transmission positioner (6) together with the automatic gear control (AGS) hydraulic controller unit (A92) until approx. 30 mm distance to the transmission housing, pull out the assembly device (7) and move in the hydraulic transmission positioner (6) to the full extent | Ensure that the steel lines are not bent when inserting the hydraulic transmission positioner (6). Align the clutch pressure line with the connection fitting of the central clutch release bearing and press in.
15 | Screw in the bolts (4) on the hydraulic transmission positioner (6) and on the automatic gear control (AGS) hydraulic controller unit (A92) | Replace screws (4).
| |||
16 | Fit supply line and return line from oil container
17 | Install safety clips (3)
18 | Install new transverse shift gate catch (1) | Insert a drift or screwdriver through the bore of the guide pin (8) and pull out the shifter shaft until the notch is visible.
Twist the shifter shaft clockwise so that the notch fits on the threaded hole in the transmission housing.
Slide back the shift shaft carefully again until the notch and the threaded hole in the transmission housing match. Screw the locking device into the threaded hole.
| |||
| |||
19 | Detach guide pin (8) on the transverse shift gate
20 | Install new cap (2) | Coat the cap (2) with locking agent and drive in all the way using a suitable drift.
21 | Connect electrical connectors for clutch travel sensor, gear sensor and gate sensor | Observe designation on the cable, clutch sensor for the clutch travel sensor and gear sensor for the gear sensor.
22 | Install clutch pressure line and secure with the safety clamp (5) | Do not bend the clutch pressure line.
| Clutch pressure line modified | ||
23 | Fill oil container with hydraulic fluid | Only sheet 345.0 hydraulic fluid may be used as otherwise the hydraulic system may fail.
