 Danger!

Risk of death caused by vehicle slipping or toppling off of the lifting platform.

Align vehicle between columns of vehicle lift and position four support plates at vehicle lift support points specified by vehicle manufacturer.

Remove bolts (2) and take off pressure plate (3) with clutch plate (4)

 The bolts (2) must be loosened gradually in a crosswise pattern. This prevents tilting or warping of the pressure plate (3).



Checking

Check pressure plate (3) and clutch plate (4)

Check central clutch operator (6)

Check for noise, rough operation, leaks and wear, if necessary:



Replace central clutch operator (6).

Check starter ring gear and flywheel (7) for wear, damage and leaks

If damage present:

Replace flywheel (7):

Check guide bearing (8) for wear and damage

If damage present:

Check radial shaft seal (9) for leaks

If damage present:

Replace radial shaft seal (9).

Clean

Clean friction surfaces (3a, 7a) on flywheel (7) and pressure plate (3), degrease and dress with abrasive cloth

Install

Mount and tighten pressure plate (3) and clutch plate (4) with centering drift (012) onto flywheel (7)

 Center the clutch plate (4) using centering drift (012).

 Its correct direction of installation is specified on the clutch plate (4). Incorrect installation will result in damage to the clutch plate (4) and transmission (1).

 The bolts (2) must be tightened gradually in a crosswise pattern. This prevents tilting or warping of the pressure plate (3).



Remove alignment punch (012)

Install transmission (1).
