2	Suspend coolant thermostat (1) from a wire in a vessel filled with water
3	Heat water in vessel on hot plate.
4	Measure water temperature and monitor the start of opening of the coolant thermostat (1)	 Use temperature measuring instrument.

5	Continue to warm up water until short circuit valve (1/2) is closed	 Use temperature measuring instrument. The short circuit valve (1/2) must close completely.

6	Continue to warm up the water until main valve (1/1) is fully opened, measure stroke	 Use temperature measuring instrument. The main valve (1/1) must be fully opened after 6 to 8 minutes. Replace coolant thermostat (1) if check values are not achieved.
