	Drain off
1	Open cooling system cap (2) at coolant expansion reservoir (1)	 Observe various versions. Cooling system cap (2) with notch: carefully turn cooling system cap (2) up to the first safety catch, release overpressure, then subsequently unscrew cooling system cap (2). 2-stage and 1-stage cooling system cap (2): Turn cooling system cap (2) by 1/2 revolution anti-clockwise, release overpressure, then unscrew cooling system cap (2).
2	Raise vehicle

		 Model 124: remove screw/bolts and take off engine compartment paneling below.
	Drain coolant at radiator
4	Push drain hose (3a) onto radiator drain screw (3)	Engine 111 in model 124, 170, 202, 208, 210
5	Open radiator drain screw (3) and drain coolant	Engine 111 in model 124, 170, 202, 208, 210
		 Collect coolant in a suitable container.
6	Close off radiator drain screw (3) and pull out drain hose (3a)	Engine 111 in model 124, 170, 202, 208, 210
7	Remove lower coolant hose from radiator or coolant pump and drain coolant	Engine 111 in model 163
		 Collect coolant in a suitable container.
8	Attach lower coolant hose to radiator or coolant pump	Engine 111 in model 163
		 Replace hose clamp.

	Drain coolant at cylinder crankcase
9	Push drain hose (4a) onto cylinder crankcase drain screw (4)
10	Open cylinder crankcase drain screw (4) and drain coolant	 Collect coolant in a suitable container.
11	Screw tight cylinder crankcase drain screw (4) and pull out drain hose (4a)	 Crankcase discharge fitting	*BA01.40-P-1003-01G
