AR13.30-W-8000A | Check regulating valve for compressor | 19.1.09 |
ENGINE 541.9 in MODEL 930, 932, 933, 934 with CODE (MZ7) Variable 1-cylinder compressor
ENGINE 542.9 in MODEL 930, 932, 934 with CODE (MZ7) Variable 1-cylinder compressor
W13.30-1137-09
1 Resonator
2 Cylinder head
5 Banjo bolt
3 Air exit
4 Control line
| Remove/install | ||
1 | Lower reservoir pressure in the air brake system to about 6.5 bar | The reservoir pressure must be lowered so that the compressor is in the delivery phase for conducting the check.
2 | Open maintenance flap
Danger! | Risk of injury caused by body parts being pinched or crushed as cab is tilted | Ensure that no one is within tilting range of cab as it is being tilted. Always tilt cab all the way to end position and secure with safety strut.
3 | Tilt cab | Installation: Only tilt cab back after leak test has been conducted.
| Notes on tilting the cab | ||
4 | Remove resonator (1) | Check disassembled resonator (1) through rattling of loose parts on the inside; replace resonator (1) if necessary.
5 | Remove control line (4) on cylinder head (2); to do this remove banjo bolt (5) | Installation: Replace sealing rings.
| |||
| Checking | ||
Danger! | Risk of accident caused by vehicle starting off by itself when engine is running. Risk of injury caused by contusions and burns during starting procedure or when working near the engine as it is running | Secure vehicle to prevent it from moving by itself.
6 | Start engine | ||
7 | Check on a running engine whether air is streaming out at the air exit (3) | If air is streaming out at the air exit (3) the regulating valve is jammed and the cylinder head (2) must be replaced:
Remove/install cylinder head (2).
8 | Check on a running engine whether air is streaming out at the control line (4) | The control line (4) is unpressurized in the delivery phase of the compressor. It only has a pressure applied to it via the pressure regulator as the pressure increases.
If the control line (4) still has pressure applied to it in the delivery phase:
Check function of the air brake system.
9 | Install in the reverse order |
