Align vehicle between vehicle lift columns and position the four support plates at the vehicle lift support points specified by the vehicle manufacturer.

Remove

1

Remove transmission carrier.



Do not lower transmission.
Otherwise incorrect filling may occur.



Clean

Clean area surrounding drain screw (2) and level control screw (3).

Loctite 7063 (400 ml) cleaning spray

Drain off

Unscrew level control screw (3) until it touches the drain screw (2).

Position suitable receptacle under drain screw (2).

Remove drain screw (2).

 Collect escaping transfer case gear oil. Do not yet dispose of drain screw (2).

Pull out overflow pipe using extraction hook and drain transfer case gear oil from transfer case.

 Collect escaping transfer case gear oil.

Clean

Clean overflow pipe and threaded holes in transfer case.

Loctite 7063 (400 ml) cleaning spray

Install

Install overflow pipe in transfer case.

 To do so, insert overflow pipe and screw in using old drain screw (2) until overflow pipe engages audibly.



Remove

Remove old drain screw (2) and dispose of properly.



Install

Screw adapter with sealing ring into threaded hole of drain screw (2) on transfer case.

Pour in

Pour specified oil filling capacity into hydraulic fluid reservoir of hand pump.

Attach hand pump to adapter.

Fill transfer case.

Remove hand pump from adapter.


Allow excess transfer case gear oil to flow out.
Damage can otherwise occur.


A waiting period of 2 minutes must always be waited before unscrewing the  adapter.
Otherwise damage can occur due to incorrect filling.

Unscrew adapter.


Allow excess transfer case gear oil to flow out.
Damage can otherwise occur.


Oil leakage must no longer occur.
Otherwise damage can occur due to incorrect filling.

 The transfer case is correctly filled when transfer case gear oil no longer flows out.

Clean

Clean threaded hole of drain screw (2).

Loctite 7063 (400 ml) cleaning spray

Install

Screw in new drain screw (2).


Always install new drain screw (2).
Otherwise, this may lead to leakage and consequential damage.

Clean

Clean working area on transfer case.

Install transmission carrier.


