Danger | Risk of death when working on component parts and systems with U >= 30 V alternating voltage (AC) or U >= 60 V direct voltage (DC) | Do not touch damaged or defective live component parts and lines or non-insulated electrical connections and lines.
Warning | Risk of injury to skin and eyes suffering scalding from contact with hot coolantspray. Risk of poisoning from swallowing coolant. | Do not open cooling system unless coolant temperature is below 90 °C. Open cap slowly and release the pressure. Do not pour coolant into beverage containers.

1 | Connect Star Diagnosis
2 | Switch off high-voltage system using Star Diagnosis
| |||
If a fault is displayed, disable high-voltage system.
Print out and store power disable event log and, where applicable, shutoff event log of high-voltage system.
| Check | ||
3 | Unscrew cap (2) from expansion reservoir (1) of engine cooling system
4 | Check coolant level | Check coolant level and adjust to correct level only if coolant temperature is below 50 °C.
5 | Inspect anticorrosion/antifreeze protection | To do this, drain coolant from radiator coolant drain plug if required.
Insufficient corrosion/antifreeze protection – subject to separate repair order:
| |||
Correct anticorrosion/antifreeze concentration
6 | Correct coolant level, to do so, add coolant up to max. mark (3a)
Topical note | Notes on coolant
Use only coolant of the specified composition.
7 | Screw cap (2) onto expansion reservoir (1) of engine cooling system
8 | Perform initial startup of high-voltage system
