1 Heat up tapered roller bearing (52) to approx. 125 °C, mount on rear axle output shaft and reposition using drift.
2 Insert rear axle output shaft (53) with shift fork (50) into the housing rear part.
Observe installation position of shift fork.

3 Mount spring pin (6) on rear axle output shaft.
4 Warm up tapered roller bearing (4) to approx. 125 °C and mount on rear axle output shaft.
5 Install radial shaft sealing ring (3) flush in the bearing cap using drift.
6 Mount coupling flange (2) and tighten slightly with new collar nut (1) until the rear axle output shaft has zero clearance.

7 Using torque meter (80), determine the total friction moment (friction torque) on the rear axle output gear.
8 Screw retainer wrench onto coupling flange and tighten collar nut carefully in stages until the specified value for the total friction moment is reached.
The total friction moment must not be corrected by loosening the collar nut!
It is absolutely essential to avoid overtightening the collar nut otherwise the inner spring pin is compressed and in each case has to be replaced.
