Given cases involving the removal of non-defective components following telephone-related complaints (e.g. calls broken off, poor speech clarity), we would like to notify you of the following:
The following complaints result from design-related problems and are not caused any telephone component in the vehicle.
Replacing a component will not remedy the complaint.
Possible complaints:
Dead zones:
In Germany, gaps in the GSM network coverage may be experienced, particularly when driving in rural areas or across national borders. GSM cell coverage weakens and the system cannot register with the next cell. The drop in reception strength can be seen in the display meter and may result in brief call interruptions.
Call interrupted when display shows full field strength (especially in population centers):
The caller or callee's mobile phone is changing cells and attempting to register with the next GSM cell. There is no free voice channel in this cell and the phone cannot log in there.
The Nokia 6310(i) will emit three beeps (as for call waiting) shortly before aborting the call.
Incompatibility between SIM card and telephone:
Some SIM cards do not function properly with the telephone and will sometimes not register.
Speed of blower motor:
If the blower motor is operating at stage 3 or higher, unwanted noise such as motorboating or hissing may disturb the call.
