1 | Open maintenance flap | Open the engine compartment flap at the rear and the interior room flap above the engine. | |
Installation: Do not close engine compartment flap at the rear yet. | |||
2 | Remove front muffler | ||
3 | Disconnect exhaust flex pipe from turbocharger (2) | ||
4 | Remove air intake pipe to turbocharger (2) | ||
5 | Remove charge air pipe | ||
6 | Detach shield (1) at turbocharger (2) | ||
7 | Remove exhaust flap (3) | ||
8 | Detach connections at turbocharger (2) | ||
9 | Remove oil return line on turbocharger (2) | Perform work step from below. | |
10 | Detach exhaust manifold (4) at turbocharger (2) | ||
11 | Pull out carrier (5) | The carrier (5) is attached using the bolts on the turbocharger (2) flange. | |
12 | Install in reverse order | ||

13 | Have a second person crank engine with starter until oil pressure has been built up | In order to prevent the engine firing hold down the Stop pushbutton switch in the engine compartment and press the Start pushbutton switch otherwise there is a risk of engine damage. | |
Danger! | Risk of accident caused by vehicle starting off by itself when engine is running. Risk of injury caused by contusions and burns during starting procedure or when working near engine | Secure vehicle to prevent it from moving off by itself. | |
14 | Relieve oil pressure in engine | Do not start engine until oil pressure has built up otherwise there is a risk of engine damage. | |
Crank engine by simultaneously pressing the Start pushbutton switch (S1/10) and the Stop pushbutton switch (S1/11) until the indicator lamp for oil pressure goes out. Simultaneous pressing prevents the engine firing. | |||
