Remove/install refrigerant compressor

Remove/install

 Danger!

Risk of injury to skin and eyes caused by scalding from contact with hot coolant spray. Risk of poisoning caused by swallowing coolant.

Do not open cooling system unless coolant temperature is below 90°C. Open cap slowly and release the pressure. Do not pour coolant into beverage containers.

Wear protective gloves, protective clothing and safety glasses.

Never perform welding work on or near a closed air conditioning system. No smoking or open flames. Wear safety glasses and protective gloves. Work only in well ventilated areas. Carry out repair work on the air conditioning system circuit only after the system has been discharged.

Remove fluid reservoir

 Seal off lines with suitable stop plugs.

 Installation: Each time the refrigerant circuit is opened, the fluid reservoir must be replaced. Observe additional oil quantity after replacing parts:

Disconnect refrigerant compressor connector (A9x1)

Disconnect suction line (2) on refrigerant compressor (A9)

 Seal off suction line (2) and refrigerant compressor (A9) with suitable stop plugs.



Remove pressure line (4) on refrigerant compressor (A9)

 Seal pressure line (4) and refrigerant compressor (A9) using plugs.



Remove bolts (5)



Withdraw refrigerant compressor (A9) forwards.

Install in the reverse order

 Installation: When installing a new refrigerant compressor (A9), slowly relieve pressure from new refrigerant compressor (A9).

Correct oil level in refrigerant compressor (A9)

 If the refrigerant compressor (A9) is being replaced as a consequence of internal damage, then the suction line (2), the pressure line (4), the sealing rings and the expansion valve must also be replaced.


