Remove left side paneling in trunk

Tubular frame remains set up

Remove left C-pillar paneling on Vario roof

Remove paneling on front Vario roof

Move Vario roof to load assist position with load assist switch.

If the trunk partition has been removed, jumper trunk partition switch mechanically or electrically.

Remove paneling from left upper center pillar.

Remove retaining plate for electric power window of left rear side window

Mark installation position of electric and hydraulic lines in area of left main bearing (6).

Installation: Damage can occur due to lines routed incorrectly.

Unscrew bolt (2), lightly bend front bracket (3) upward and remove electrical lines.

Unscrew bolt (4) and remove rear bracket (5).

Close Vario roof with Vario roof switch.

Ensure that during the closing operation, no hydraulic or electrical lines are pinched and damaged.

For this purpose, jumper trunk partition limit switch mechanically or electrically.

Remove front catch on Vario roof

The front catch hydraulic cylinder (1) is removed from catch center section (7).

Expose hydraulic lines No. 30 and 90 for front catch hydraulic cylinder (1) to RVC hydraulic unit in trunk and remove

Mark installation position of hydraulic lines No. 30 and 90.

Installation: Damage can occur due to lines routed incorrectly.

Installation: Ensure that lines are routed correctly particularly in the area of the main bearing (6) and Vario roof intermediate bearing.

Remove hydraulic lines No. 30 and No. 90 from RVC hydraulic unit

Do not separate electrical connectors at the RVC hydraulic unit.

Remove front lock hydraulic cylinder (1) from vehicle.

Do not kink hydraulic lines to prevent damage.

Install in the reverse order

Check Vario roof for proper function

Particularly ensure that electrical and hydraulic lines are routed freely.
