Remove/install

Remove side window from the front door.

Disconnect ground line from battery.

Release and disconnect all electrical connectors coming out of the main wiring harness (2).

 The number of electrical connectors varies according to vehicle equipment.

Expose main wiring harness (2) of the door module (1).

Release and disconnect electrical connector (3) of the outside mirror from the control unit.

Remove outside door handle from front door.

Loosen bolts (4).

Push bearing bracket (5) toward the front and unhook from door paneling.

Remove screws (6) from the door lock.

Remove screws (7) from the door module (1).

When fastening door module (1) with screws (7).

 Installation: Repair stage 1:
If screws (7) turn freely, screws with a larger diameter are available from EPC for fastening the door module (1).
Repair stage 2:
If larger screws turn freely, rivets are available from EPC for fastening the door module (1).

Drill out rivet heads of rivets on the door module (1).

When fastening the door module (1) using rivets.

 Commercially available equipment: Blind riveting tool

Remove door module (1) from front door.

Remove door module (1) together with the locking system from the front door.

Drill out rivet residues, press out the remaining rivet residues on the inner door panel, and completely remove the rivet residues and shavings from the front door.

When fastening the door module (1) using rivets.

Install in the reverse order.
