Align vehicle between vehicle lift columns and position the four support plates at the vehicle lift support points specified by the vehicle manufacturer.

Remove screw (1).

 Clamp, metering valve to SCR catalytic converter

Bend open clamp (2) and remove metering valve (3) from exhaust pipe (4).

 Installation: Replace clamp (2) and seal of metering valve (3). Ensure correct positioning of metering valve (3). Locks of metering valve (3) must sit in cutouts (5) on exhaust pipe (4).

Disconnect electrical connection (6).

Remove line (7) from metering valve (3).

 To do so, release connection fitting (8).
Plug openings.

Clamp off coolant hoses (9).

 Removal: Mark assignment of coolant hoses (9) to metering valve (3).

Remove coolant hoses (9) from metering valve (3).

 To do this, open clamps (10).

 Installation: Replace clamps (10).
Observe markings on coolant hoses (9) in relation to metering valve (3).

Clean

Clean connections and seal with suitable stop plugs.

Clean seat of metering valve (3) in exhaust pipe (4).

 Plug openings.

Clean sealing surface at metering valve (3).

If metering valve (3) will be reused.

Install in the reverse order.



Check

Read out fault memory with vehicle diagnosis system.

If metering valve (3) will be replaced.



Connect/disconnect diagnostic unit



Erase the fault memory.

Risk of accident from vehicle starting off by itself when engine running. Risk of injury (bruises and burns) resulting from working on the engine while it is being started or when it is running.

Secure vehicle to prevent it from starting off by itself. Wear closed and snug-fitting work clothes. Do not touch hot or rotating parts.
