Risk of explosion from explosive gas. Risk of poisoning and caustic burns from swallowing battery electrolyte. Risk of injury through burns to skin and eyes from battery acid or when handling damaged lead-acid batteries

No fires, sparks, open flames or smoking. Wear acid-resistant gloves, clothing and glasses. Only pour battery acid into suitable and appropriately marked containers.

Detach ground line from battery and remove transmitter key



Remove steering wheel

Remove fuse cover (1)

Remove steering column trim (2, 3)

 Installation: Note installation of lines under the steering column trim (2, 3).

Remove clock spring contact (4)

Detach electrical connection (5) from steering angle sensor (6)

Remove steering angle sensor (6)

 Installation: Note installation position of steering angle sensor (6) (plug-in connection at bottom, see enlarged detail).
Catch hook of steering angle sensor (6) must engage in steering-wheel groove.

Install in the reverse order

Set time on instrument cluster

Set time on timer for auxiliary heater
