1 | Check toe-out angle | ||
To check the steering geometry the toe-out angle is measured for a wheel wheel angle of the inner wheel of 20°, which can show larger deviations for correctly adjusted camber due to the following causes:
1. Toe-in has not been adjusted in the straight-ahead position of the steering gear so that uneven tie rod lengths have resulted
Check/adjust toe-in | |||
2. Steering knuckle arm bent.
3. On accident vehicles too large deviations in the front end (frame-longitudinal member, frame-crossmember, wheel well or axle/engine subframe), which have an unfavorable effect on the adjustment range for camber and caster. |
