Shift automatic transmission (2) to neutral position.

Release parking brake.

Remove propeller shaft.

Remove AdBlue® line (3) from transmission carrier (4) and place to one side.

Remove electrical wiring harness (5) from transmission carrier (4) and place to one side.

Support automatic transmission (2) at center.



Remove bolts (6).

Unscrew screws (7) and remove transmission carrier (4) together with transmission mount (8) and transmission mount holder (9).

Remove output flange (10).

Remove radial shaft sealing ring (1) from transmission housing (12).


Do not damage the transmission housing (12).
Otherwise leakage may occur.

 Removal and installation tool

Check

Check sealing surfaces of output flange (10) for galling and corrosion.

Depending on the findings,



replace output flange (10).

Check seat of radial shaft sealing ring (1) in transmission housing (12).

Depending on the findings,

Replace transmission housing (12).

Install

Moisten sealing lip of new radial shaft sealing ring (1) with transmission oil.



Automatic transmission fluids (ATF) (specification 236.17)

Press new radial shaft sealing ring (1) into transmission housing (12)using drift (11) until drift (11) makes contact with transmission housing (12).

Align transmission carrier (4) together with transmission mount (8) and transmission mount holder (9) and position screws (7).

Screw in bolts (6).

 Replace screw/bolts (6).
