Special tool W 716 589 05 33 00 Two-arm internal extractor removed and replaced by W 000 589 28 33 00 Puller Ø 28­37 mm and W 000 589 33 33 00 Counter stay.

Disassemble

Remove bearing (5)

 Unscrew hexagon socket of  counter stay.

 Internal extractor

Remove radial shaft sealing ring (1)


Do not attach lever between radial shaft sealing ring (1) and seat.
If the seat is damaged, the rear section of the transmission housing (4) must be replaced.

Remove tab washers (8)

 To do this, remove bolts (9) .

Remove bearing (7)

 Sleeve

Remove reverse idler shaft (12) and reverse idler gear (14)

Remove bearing (15)

 Puller, 28-37 mm dia.

Remove guide pin (18) with washers (17)

 To do so, remove screw plug (19).

Remove sleeve (16)

Disconnect electrical connection (3)

Remove transmission neutral position sensor (B79/2)

 To do this, remove bolts (2).



Clean

Clean seats and bearing seats

 Use a clean and lint-free rag.



Assemble

Install transmission neutral position sensor (B79/2)

Model 447 with transmission 711.6
with code E07 (Start-off assist)

 Replace screw/bolts (2).

Connect electrical connection (3)

Install new bearing (5)

 Drift

Install new radial shaft sealing ring (1) up to end stop



 Clean seat of radial shaft sealing ring (1) and coat sealing lip with transmission oil.

Install bearing (7) up to end stop

 Replace screw/bolts (9).

 Screw/bolt, locking plate for countershaft bearing, main shaft bearing or drive shaft bearing to transmission housing

Install reverse idler shaft (14) and reverse idler gear (12)

Install sleeve (16)

Install guide pin (18) with washers (17)

 Replace screw plug (19). Check condition of washers (17).

Replace washers (17).

Press in bearing (15) as far as the end stop
