Testing cooling system cap

Removing and installing

 Danger!

Risk of injury to skin and eyes from scalding from hot coolant which splashes out. Risk of poisoning from swallowing coolant.

Do not open cooling system unless coolant temperature is below 90 °C. Open cap slowly and allow the pressure to release. Do not pour coolant into containers for drinks.

Wear protective gloves, protective clothes and eye protection.

Remove the cooling system cover (1)

 Replace the cover if there are signs of rust

Install the double manifold (2) in the tester (3)



Install sealing cover (1) in the double manifold (2)



Testing

Check the excess pressure valve, verify the opening pressure of the sealing cover, by means of a pumping operation

If fitting, replace sealing cover



Check vacuum valve (4)

The vacuum valve (4) must be supported on the rubber gasket (arrow), it must be easily lifted and returned to its place if it is let go.


