Do not open cooling system unless coolant temperature is below 90 °C. Open cap slowly and release the pressure. Do not pour coolant into beverage containers.
Wear protective gloves, protective clothing and safety glasses.

Remove/install

Remove engine with transmission.

Remove low-pressure exhaust gas recirculation valve.

Remove charge air pipe (2).

 Only release the charge air cooler; do not remove completely.

Remove noise insulation (3) and place to one side.

Open hose clamp (4), disconnect coolant hose (5) from the low-pressure exhaust gas recirculation cooler (1), and seal openings with suitable stop plugs.

Remove screw/bolt (6).

Remove screws (7).

 Bolt, low-pressure exhaust gas recirculation cooler to rear cap/holder

Remove screws (8).

 Bolt, low pressure EGR line to low pressure exhaust gas recirculation cooler

Remove screw (9), remove low-pressure exhaust gas recirculation cooler (1), and seal openings with suitable stop plugs.

 Installation: Install new O-ring on the coolant pipe of the low-pressure exhaust gas recirculation cooler (1).
Install new seal (10).
