1 | Remove interior flap above engine | ||
2 | Disconnect ground line of battery | ||
3 | Lower rear drive module | ||
4 | Remove starter-alternator | Model 451.334/380/480 | |
5 | Disconnect electrical connector (2) for O2 sensor downstream of CAT [KAT] and unhook out of retaining clip (3) | ||
6 | Disconnect electrical connector at coolant temperature sensor (B11/4) | ||
7 | Unclip retaining clip (6, 7) and remove charge current line (5) from intake pipe (1) | ||
8 | Unclip retaining clip (9, 10) and remove electrical line (8) from intake pipe (1) | ||
9 | Lower vehicle with vehicle lift | ||
10 | Remove electrical connectors (11) at fuel injection valves | ||
11 | Disconnect electrical connector (12) at camshaft Hall sensor (B6/1) | ||
12 | Disconnect electrical connector (13) at throttle valve actuator (M16/6) | ||
13 | Detach engine wiring harness (14) from retaining clip (15, 16, 17, 18) | ||
14 | Disconnect electrical connector (19) from activated charcoal canister shutoff valve (Y58/2) | ||
15 | Disconnect electrical connector (20) at intake manifold pressure sensor (B28) | ||
16 | Pull holder (21) out of intake pipe (1), unclip purge line (22) from retaining clip (23) and disconnect purge line (22) to connecting point | ||
17 | Detach engine wiring harness (14) from retaining clip (24, 25) | ||
18 | Open clamp (26), detach fuel line (27) and detach from brackets (28) | Collect escaping fuel in a suitable container. Use suitable plugs to seal the openings. | |
Installation: Replace clamp (26). | |||
19 | Unlock retainer (29) and detach brake booster vacuum line (30) from intake pipe (1) | ||
20 | Open clamp (31), detach partial load vent hose (32) from intake pipe (1) | Installation: Replace clamp (31). | |
21 | Detach hose clamp (33) and resonance container (34) | Installation: Check hose clamp (33), replace if necessary. | |
22 | Remove bolts (38, 39) and intake pipe (1) | Installation: Replace profiled rubber seals (40). Ensure correct seating of the profiled rubber seals (40) and sleeves (41, 42). | |

23 | Detach throttle valve actuator (M16/6) | When replacing the intake pipe (1). | |
24 | Remove activated charcoal canister shutoff valve (Y58/2) with purge line (22) | When replacing the intake pipe (1). | |
25 | Remove Intake manifold pressure sensor (B28) | When replacing the intake pipe (1). | |
26 | Remove fuel distributor | When replacing the intake pipe (1). | |
27 | Install in the reverse order | ||

28 | Carry out an engine test run and check intake manifold (1) for leaks |
