B60 | Coolant temperature sensor |
1 | Clutch |
S07.52-1005-06
| Remove/install | ||
Danger | Risk of death when working on component parts and systems with U >= 30 V alternating voltage (AC) or U >= 60 V direct voltage (DC) | Do not touch damaged or defective live component parts and lines or non-insulated electrical connections and lines.
1 | Disconnect ground line of battery
Warning | Risk of injury to skin and eyes suffering scalding from contact with hot coolantspray. Risk of poisoning from swallowing coolant. | Do not open cooling system unless coolant temperature is below 90 °C. Open cap slowly and release the pressure. Do not pour coolant into beverage containers.
2 | Remove the pressure in coolant circuit | To do so, open the cover of the coolant expansion reservoir
3 | Remove the coupling (1) of the coolant temperature sensor (B60)
4 | Unscrew the coolant temperature sensor (B60) | Replace sealing ring if it is damaged (arrow)
5 | Check coolant level | ||
| |||
Correct it if necessary.
6 | Install in the reverse order
7 | Check the leaktightness of the connecting points | Check this while the engine is running
8 | Read out the PEC control unit fault memory, clear it if necessary | Engine diagnosis manual |
