Remove

Remove resonator box.

Unscrew screw (3) and remove camshaft position sensor (4).

Check

Insert adjusting tool (2) at installation location of camshaft position sensor (4) and slightly tighten screw (3) by hand.

 Use screw (3) of removed camshaft position sensor (4).

Set piston of cylinder 1 to top dead center (TDC).

Only rotate the crankshaft in the direction of rotation of the engine.
The timing chain can skip otherwise and cause engine damage.

 Counterholder

Remove counterholder from belt pulley (1).

Check basic position of the exhaust camshaft.

 The marking on the exhaust camshaft must match the marking on the  adjusting tool (2).

If the markings do not match,



Set basic position of camshafts.

Remove screw (3) and remove adjusting tool (2).



Install

Install camshaft position sensor (4).

Install resonator box.
