Remove

1

Remove camshaft Hall sensor (B6/1).

Remove top noise insulation in front of poly-V-belt.

Remove impact plate in front of poly-V-belt.

Install adjusting tool (2) in the opening of the camshaft Hall sensor (B6/1) and tighten screw (3) slightly by hand.

Rotate engine at belt pulley/vibration damper (1) with counterholder in direction of engine rotation and place piston for cylinder 1 at ignition TDC.


Do not reverse crank the engine.
Otherwise the timing chain jumps and causes engine damage.

 The 0° marking on the belt pulley/vibration damper (1) must match with marking on crankcase.

Check basic position of the exhaust camshaft.

 The marking on the exhaust camshaft must match the marking on the   adjusting tool (2).

If the markings do not match,



set basic position of camshafts.

Remove adjusting tool (2).

Remove counterholder from belt pulley/vibration damper (1).

 Counterholder

Install impact plate upstream of poly-V-belt.

10

Install top noise insulation in front of poly-V-belt.

11

Install camshaft Hall sensor (B6/1).
