Remove oil pan

The oil pump is also removed when taking off the oil pan.

Remove timing case cover

Push tensioning arm (4) down against the force of the spring and take off drive chain of oil pump (3)

Inspect drive chain of oil pump (3) for wear, replace if necessary.

Detach timing chain (5) at crankshaft sprocket (1)

Inspect timing chain (5) for wear, replace if necessary.

Pull off crankshaft sprocket (1) with puller (6)

Push tensioning arm (4) down against the force of the spring for this step (arrow).

Installation: Align parallel key (2), heat crankshaft sprocket (1), grease if necessary, and push onto the crankshaft. Ensure Woodruff key (2) is correctly installed.

Install in the reverse order
