| Check | ||
1 | Close trailer coupling | For deviating models, see manufacturer's instructions.
Carry out all other maintenance services according to manufacturer's information.
| |||
With separated invoicing.
2 | Move coupling jaw (3) to the right and to the left until it touches the buffers at both sides, and then loosen it | The coupling jaw (3) must return automatically to the center position.
3 | Pull locking handle (1) out and turn it about 45º until it locks | Locking handle (1) version.
4 | Lift the coupling pin (4) with manual lever (2) | The coupling pin (4) must lock automatically in the upper position and the coupling jaw (3) must be secured in the center position.
5 | With an appropriate tool, push the coupling pin (4) up or operate the loosing lever (7) | The coupling pin (4) must loose itself from its securing spot and snap into a hole at the lower part of the bearing.
6 | Check pivot bearing of the coupling body (5) for longitudinal play and height | There must not be any clearance at the longitudinal direction.
The allowed height play must not be higher than prescribed.
Coupling body bearing | |||
7 | Push coupling pin (4) up with an appropriate tool and with the trailer coupling closed | Coupling pin
8 | Measure the coupling pin (4) at longitudinal and transverse direction around its round part by using a vernier caliper or a test caliper | The measure must not be lower than the minimum prescribed, the test caliper must not fit in.
Calipers can be acquired directly from the trailer coupling manufacturer.
Coupling pin | |||
9 | At the lower guiding sleeve (8), measure the guiding sleeve inner diameter | The maximum prescribed measure must not be exceeded.
Guide bushing | |||
10 | Check wear plate (9) or buffer ring for wear and condition | The carrying strap must not touch the pilot bushing.
11 | Check trailer coupling fastening bolts at end crossmember and at the structure end crossmember for tight seating |
