Remove lower engine compartment paneling.

Disconnect electrical connectors (3) and expose transmission wiring harness (4).

Unclip bleed line (8) from brackets and expose bleed line (8).

Detach clutch slave cylinder from transmission (1) and place to one side with lines connected.

Remove rear engine carrier.

Lower transmission (1) slightly.

 The screws (7, 9) must be accessible.

Grease must not get onto the clutch lining and the release bearing.
Otherwise the release bearing and the clutch lining will be damaged.

 Installation: Lightly grease splines all round transmission input shaft with paste.

Check release bearing for wear and damage.

If corresponding findings are present,



Replace release bearing.

Remove/install release bearing

Check pilot bearing in flywheel for wear and damage.

If corresponding findings are present,

Replace flywheel.

Remove/install cover with radial shaft sealing ring

Replace dowel pins.

Clean

Clean splines and guide of transmission input shaft.

rectify transmission oil level.

 Warning

Secure vehicle to prevent it from starting off by itself. Wear closed and snug-fitting work clothes. Do not touch hot or rotating parts.
