Warning

Risk of injury to skin and eyes suffering scalding from contact with hot coolantspray. Risk of poisoning from swallowing coolant.

Do not open cooling system unless coolant temperature is below 90 °C. Open cap slowly and release the pressure. Do not pour coolant into beverage containers.
Wear protective gloves, protective clothing and safety glasses.

Drain off coolant

Remove crossmember under bumper

Remove front end crossmember (1)

To do this, remove screws (2) and swivel front end crossmember (1) out of the working area.

Unfasten condenser and swivel out of the working area

The condenser is not completely removed. Do not suction off refrigerant.

Remove charge air hoses from charge air cooler (3)

Detach coolant hose (4) at cooler (5)

Disconnect electrical connector (6)

Remove locks (8)

Remove holder (7)

To do so, turn holder (7) by 90° and remove upwards.

Remove outside temperature sensor (B14) from left air duct segment

Do not disconnect electrical connector.

Remove cooler (5)

Lift out cooler (5) together with charge air cooler (3) upwards.

Modify existing detachable parts

Only when replacing the cooler (5).

Install in the reverse order

Check engine cooling system for leak tightness
