Disconnect ground cable of battery, connect

Drain engine oil

Detach fan shroud (3) from fixtures and place over fan

Detach charge air lines (4, 5) of supercharger on left and right

Engine 111.947 with supercharger

Unclip left charge air line (5) at hot film mass air flow sensor (5a), detach right charge air line (4) at supercharger (6).

Unscrew bolts (11) of front engine mounts (8) at front axle carrier

Raise engine

Unplug connector of oil level sensor (S43)

Unbolt oil pan (56), lower

Installation:
Observe electrical line of oil level sensor (S43) and attachment of ground strap to transmission bell.

If automatic transmission installed, pay attention to fixture for ATF lines.

Pay attention to different lengths and diameters of bolts.

Align oil pan (56) to rear contact surface on transmission.

If the oil pan is not aligned to the transmission, this can result in noise and vibration problems.

Unbolt oil pump (24), remove

Unbolt oil deflector plate (23) and remove

Remove oil pan (56)

Installation: Take out oil pan to the front in direction of travel, at the same time rotate crankshaft slightly, if necessary.

If automatic transmission fitted, push ATF lines slightly to the side.

Clean contact surfaces of oil pan.

Fix gasket of oil pan (56a) to oil pan, if necessary, with dots of Loctite sealant 5970

Clean sealing surfaces, replace oil pan gasket (56a)

Install in the reverse order

Secure vehicle to prevent it moving off.

Always wear appropriate work clothing when working on the vehicle.
