Function sequence
Unlocking with door locking/unlocking switch
1 Prerequisites:
Driver's and passenger doors closed and locked.
2 The unlocking operation can be started with the door locking/unlocking switch (S63).
3 The "unlock" signal from the switch causes the ZV/KSA control module (A23) to actuate
the locking motors (M11 and M12) in the doors
and
the cab interior lighting.
The locking motors move to the "unlocked" position, the doors are unlocked and the interior lighting (entry lamp/interior lamp on driver and passenger sides) is switched on for max. 10 s.
The interior lighting goes out immediately when the ignition is switched on within 10 s. However, it remains switched on for max. 5 min. when a door is opened and not closed again.
If one of the two doors is already unlocked when the unlocking operation is started, only the locking motor in the locked door is actuated causing it to unlock. The interior lighting is not switched on in this case.
On vehicles equipped according to GGVS guidelines unlocking the vehicle with the door locking/unlocking switch from inside is not possible. These vehicles have a battery separation switch, which interrupts the entire power supply when the ignition is switched off so that it is only possible to unlock the vehicle mechanically.
