Purpose

The locking motors for the driver's and passenger doors (M11 and M12) consist of tappets moved by an electric motor. They lock and unlock the doors by moving the tappet in and out.

The current tappet position is sensed by a change-over switch directly on the locking motor and relayed to the ZVA/KSA control module (A23). The ZVA/KSA control module evaluates the signals from the switches for recognition whether the doors are locked or unlocked.
