Remove differential assembly.

Remove ring gear with differential

Remove drive pinion (2) from axle housing (5)

Pry off with two hexagon bolts.

Remove shim (3) from axle housing (5)

Check cylindrical roller bearing (4) in axle housing (5), replace if necessary

Screw guide pins into axle housing (5)

Guide bolts for installing differential assembly

Mount drive pinion (2) onto axle housing (5)

Coat sealing surfaces of drive pinion, axle housing (5) and new shim (3) with sealant.

Mount shim (3) and drive pinion (2) onto axle housing (5) so that the oil ducts (arrow) are lying on top of each other.

Measure basic dimension at differential.

If the dimension deviates, correct the distance between the drive pinion gear housing and axle housing with appropriate shims.
