Removing

Drain oil from rear axle

Lock differential lock

 Axles with differential lock:

Apply compressed air to differential lock.

Unscrew bolts (1) and pull out rear axle shafts (2)

 Pull out rear axle shafts by approx.
170 mm.

Remove propeller shaft (4)

 Only remove propeller shaft on drive flange (7), support propeller shaft.

Remove plug (6)

 Vehicles with Flexible Service System (FSS)

Attach removal fixture to differential assembly (9)

Install differential assembly (9)

 Grease four-point support (10) in axle housing.

Clean sealing surfaces on axle housing and on differential assembly and coat with sealing compound.
