| Install | ||
1 | Remove the crankshaft |

2 | Removing the piston cooling oil spray nozzle |
| |
3.1 | Machining the engine block (1), to install cylinder liner | In case of cylinder without liner.
. | |||
3.2 | Remove the cylinder liner (2) | In case of cylinder with liner.
. | |||
4 | Carefully clean the basic bore in the engine block (1)
5 | Measure the cylinder liner basic bore, in the engine block (1) | .Diameter (B) of the seat-hole to the cylinder liner, at the block
.Diameter (C) of the seat-hole to the liner collar, in the block
6 | Measure the cylinder liner (2), outside diameter of the cylinder liner and outside diameter of the collar | Liner collar outer diameter
Liner external diameter
7 | Duly position the cylinder block (1) in a press
8 | Lightly lubricate the basic bore in the cylinder block, except in the area of the cylinder liner collar seat | Keep the seat for the cylinder liner collar on the block clean and dry. Oil the housing surface for the cylinder liner in the block, starting at a depth of about 20 mm.
9 | Place the cylinder liner (2), perfectly aligned, in the basic bore of the block (1) | The cylinder liner (2) must be clean and dry.
10 | Press the cylinder liner (2) down to approximately 20 mm before its final position | Utilize an appropriate base on the edge of the cylinder liner. Clean the housing of the cylinder liner with compressed air.
11 | Press the cylinder liner (2) down to its final position in the block (1) | Apply a force of approx. 3 t until the cylinder liner reaches its final position. Relief the press for an instant and next apply, during 5 seconds, a force of 7 t.
12 | Correct the block surface, eliminating the protrusion of the cylinder liner (2) on the block (1) | Machine crankcase contact surface
Observe that the block height, after machining, will have to satisfy one of the tolerance degrees (normal, repair stage I, repair stage II or repair stage III).
13 | Machine and hone the cylinder liner (2) installed |
| |
14 | Clean the engine block
15 | Check for eventual protrusion of the cylinder liner collar(s) (2) in relation to the block surface (1). If necessary press the cylinder liner again | The surface of the cylinder liner collar must be flush with the engine block deck. Eventually cylinder liner movement may occur, during machining/honing.
16 | Install the piston cooling oil spray nozzle |
| |
17 | Install the crankshaft |
