Removing

Danger

Risk of explosion caused by escaping oxyhydrogen gas. Risk of injury caused by caustic burns to eyes, skin and mucous membranes from battery electrolyte (contains diluted sulfuric acid) or metal spatter due to short circuit. Risk of burn injuries caused by short circuit. Risk of poisoning caused by swallowing battery electrolyte (contains diluted sulfuric acid) or absorption of lead over the skin or orifices

No fire, sparks, open flames or smoking.

Wear acid-resistant gloves and clothing and safety glasses with side guards.

Do not place any conductive objects on the battery and avoid any short circuit from battery positive to ground.

Only fill liquid battery electrolyte (diluted sulfuric acid) into suitable and appropriately marked containers.

Disconnect ground cable from battery

2

Remove front bumper

AR88.20-D-2000B

Danger

Risk of injury to skin and eyes due to scalding from hot coolant spraying out. Risk of poisoning from consuming coolant

Only open coolant system at coolant temperatures below 90°C. Unscrew cap slowly and relieve pressure. Do not pour coolant into drinking containers. Wear protective gloves, protective clothing and safety glasses.

Installing

8

Install new circulation pump 002 835 20 64 with rubberized fastening clip on the left fixing bolt as a single-point fixing.

9

Cut off standard connector behind the connector housing and replace by connector 418 540 00 81.

Connect connector with correct polarity.

10

Install and secure coolant hoses (1;2).

11

Connect ground cable to battery.

Set timer to the right time (refer to Eberspächer operating instructions)

Danger

Risk of accident resulting from vehicle starting to move off on its own with the engine running. Risk of injury by becoming trapped and due to burns when intervening during the starting operation or when the engine is running

Secure vehicle against starting to move off on its own.

Wear close-fitting, tight clothing.

Do not touch hot or rotating parts

AS00.00-Z-0005-01A

12

Start engine and bleed cooling and heating system

Allow engine to warm up at varying speeds for approx. 1 minute. Replenish coolant constantly up to the top mark in the coolant expansion reservoir.

13

Switch off engine

14

Check coolant hose connections or leaks

Danger

Risk of explosion due to fuel vapors igniting, risk of poisoning due to inhaling combustion gases and risk of injury from burns during and after heater operation.

Do not put stationary heater, auxiliary heater or engine with heater booster into operation in confined spaces or while refuelling. Allow heater unit to cool down after operation and wear safety gloves

AS83.70-Z-0002-01A
